Everyone needs a bathroom bag!
The Woodland Dopp Kit has become a favourite make. Particularly as gifts for friends and family. Why? Because everyone needs a bathroom bag! Whether it’s a trip overseas or staying the night with a friend – this bag covers it all. Plus it’s unisex design makes it great for everyone in your life.
The Woodland Dopp is a pattern that I’ve written about before. If you didn’t catch my last post you can read it here. This pattern is by Klum House and if you haven’t checked them out I can highly recommend! Their patterns are usually quite complicated but also come with very detailed instructions. And lots of online resources too.
One of my favourite things about the Woodland Dopp is that it’s a unisex pattern. Everyone could use a new bathroom bag in their life! One thing I’m not so fond of is how the bag is finished either a zigzag stitch or binding. But that’s just me – I’m not a fan of binding- mainly because mine is usually not very tidy. I also think that the leather taps could be longer. Mainly so you could use them to hook the bag to the back of a door (for travel).
Since I’m going on a big trip overseas soon I decided to make a Dopp just for me. But instead of using a waterproof waxed canvas – I went for a linen canvas. I thought that would make cleaning it easier ( just throw it in the washing machine). But now wondering if I should have used a waxed canvas, at least for the lining. I suppose I’ll find out soon enough.
I gave the other Woodland Dopp Kit to a friend for Christmas. And she paid me the nicest compliment. She was completely blown away that I had made it myself! And actually asked me twice because she didn’t quite believe it. It’s alway so nice when people are surprised something is handmade by you.
