Hanging Tea Towels

Something for the kitchen…

It can be hard to think of what to make people when Christmas time comes around. You also have to be super organised and start your Christmas sewing projects really early. This idea was inspired by my Nanna who used to make a crochet version for my mum every year. I don’t do a lot of crocheting so my knowledge of this craft is fairly limited. Pinterest came to my rescue and I found a tutorial for a fabric hanging tea towel

This tutorial is easy to follow and you don’t need to gather a lot of supplies. Once you’ve purchased the tea towels most of the other things should be in your sewing supplies. It’s also a great way to utilise those random buttons. I did deviate slightly from the tutorial by omitting the flannel and instead used an iron-on woven interfacing. It seems to work pretty well as a substitute.

These hanging tea towels are so useful in the kitchen and it’s a great way to show off a really nice tea towel. Since making these I have seen many variations on Pinterest so have a look and find a style that you love. I ended up making these for most of my family and on Christmas Day they were a huge hit!
